We’re thrilled to announce that NXT is joining forces with the GDTF (General Device Type Format) initiative. We are bringing our fixtures fully into the open, standardized ecosystem for lighting, rigging, and show control data.

What is GDTF (General Device Type Format)?

A universal, open standard
GDTF is a specification designed to describe lighting fixtures (and other entertainment devices) in a unified, machine-readable format.
All-in-one fixture data
In a single file, a GDTF contains geometry, DMX channel definitions, photometric data, gobos, effects, physical attributes, and more. Everything needed by both visualizers and control consoles.
Bridging software & hardware
Because it’s open and standardized, GDTF enables seamless exchange of device profiles between lighting consoles, CAD/design tools, and 3D visualizers.
Evolving industry support
GDTF has grown rapidly with widespread adoption among manufacturers and software providers.
